About Gallery St. Thomas
| Gallery St. Thomas on #1 Main Street in Charlotte Amalie, was created by owner Claire Ochoa to promote artwork from or inspired by the Virgin Islands. Claire’s background in the art world began in 1991 in Texas. She brought her art experience with her to the Virgin Islands in 1998. She started her online business in 2002 and Gallery St. Thomas in 2003. For the Main Street and online venue she selected a variety of artists and mediums to create an interesting showcase for local art. Gallery St. Thomas was just recently voted “Best Gallery for Local Art” in the Virgin Islands Daily News readership poll. |

| As a board member of the School of Visual Arts and Careers (SVAC), a non-profit after school program for high school students interested in art careers and a member of the Artists’ Association of St. John, Inc. (AASJ), Claire is able to keep current with all aspects of the island’s art community and serve as a resource for art-related information. |

Through our experience with, and personal commitment to the art community, we seek to provide not only a quality venue for artists to exhibit their work, but also a means for collectors to view and acquire new pieces. Our passion is the personal service of connecting artists and art collectors. Melissa, Melanie, Ziya, Jenna and I consider ourselves so fortunate to be working with a great team of Caribbean artists that share our vision. We truly enjoy facilitating and celebrating each and every moment of art collecting!” |
