"I have painted hundreds of mermaids and I keep thinking this will be the last one...(I know it won't be!)  This mermaid seemed similar to the ones painted in the past but by the time I came to the turtles I felt I had to make the paintng mine.  With that feeling came the faces on the backs of the turtles, the mermaid below and faces in the side....These are the faces I have known and seen all along and just now letting them show in my work.  What the faces are is up to interpretation!"
